Bangladesh Fencing Association was launched in 2007. In fact Bangladesh Fencing Association became proactive since 2017 and a number of fencing tournaments were organized since then. Bangladeshi fencers won 11 medals including one gold medal from the South Asian Games of 2019 under leadership of Mr. Shoeb Chowdhury, President of Bangladesh Fencing Federation.

National Sports Council of Bangladesh government constituted an ad hoc committee of 27 members for Bangladesh Fencing Association on 12 August 2021. Bangladesh Fencing Association was promoted to Bangladesh Fencing Federation on October 24, 2022 as per the decision of the Executive Committee meeting of Bangladesh National Sports Council. Renowned media personality Mr.Selim Omrao Khan have been appointed for the post of General Secretary of BFA and Mr.Khan will represent your organization on behalf Bangladesh Fencing Federation.

Bangladesh Fencing Federation has successfully completed Sheikh Rassel 1st National Junior and Cadet Fencing Tournament 2021 was held in the capital city of Bangladesh at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor stadium, Mirpur on 8-9 November, 2021. Many distinguished personalities and senior officials of Bangladesh government were present in the inaugural and closing ceremony of the Tournament. Local government, Rural Development and Cooperative Minister H.E.Mr. Tajul Islam graced the event as the chief guest, Former Governor of Bangladesh Dr. Atiur Rahman and Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Mr.S.M Ruhul Amin and  Agrani Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Mr.Parimal Singh, Secretary of National Sports Council attended the program as special guests.

Bangabandhu 4th National Fencing Tournament was held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur in the capital on 12 December 2021 ( Sunday).

Bangladesh Navy won the champions title in the contest-winning 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 8 bronze medals while Bangladesh Army became the first runners-up obtaining 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Ansar-VDP became the second runners-up attaining 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. 
 
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP joined the closing ceremony virtually. He appreciated the organizers of the tournament. He offered his best wishes for Bangladeshi fencers and expressed hope that Bangladeshi fencers will be able to uplift the country’s honour by winning medals and trophies from international fencing competitions. 
 
Tanvir Shakil Joy MP, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities & Exchange Commission (BSEC) Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Captain Tanzim Faruq of Bangladesh Navy, Additional Inspector General of Police (Retd) Abdul Mabud PPM and Professor Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah attended the event as special guests.
